Homer Williams has been engaged in real estate development for more than forty years. He has been instrumental in the success of the Pearl District and South Waterfront redevelopment projects in Portland, Oregon, as well as numerous development projects in downtown Los Angeles, California. Over the past decade, Homer and his affiliated companies have developed over $2.5 Billion worth of real estate. Homer’s unique skills sets include the ability to form instrumental public/private partnerships. This includes the South Waterfront Central District partnership between North Macadam Investors, Oregon Health & Science University and the City of Portland, which has led to the largest urban development in the State of Oregon’s history. He sits on the boards of the River District Steering Committee, as well as Special Olympics of Oregon and Construction Apprenticeship & Workforce Solutions (CAWS). Homer was born in Walla Walla, Washington and raised in La Grande and Portland, Oregon.
President of Williams & Dame Development, Dike has been at the forefront of real estate financing and development for more than forty years, having worked with business partner, Homer Williams, for over twenty of those years. At WDD, Dike plans, organizes, leads and controls the company’s activities. He has been responsible for negotiating complex development agreements with multiple public entities and formulating multifaceted financial structures. Dike is on the Advisory Board of Portland State University’s School of Urban Affairs and Planning, and Vice Chairman of a Project Apprentice Committee that promotes union apprenticeships for women and ethnic minorities. Dike also serves on the Board of Portland State University’s First Stop Portland program, which he and PSU founded.
James Atkins is a real-estate development executive with an unmatched track record of developing and delivering vibrant neighborhoods and communities while at the same time creating industry-leading value for his partners and investors. His proven leadership and management skills, together with his technical expertise, have helped create over 10,000 new housing units of all types. This portfolio of successful investments – many including high-rise construction and public/private financing – extends from South Waterfront, Portland to South Park, Los Angeles to to South Lake Union, Seattle.
Since 2004, Mr. Atkins has served in senior leadership positions for some of the most well-respected investors and developers on the West Coast. His responsibilities and duties have included assembling and leading teams in sourcing, entitling, designing and building institutional quality, urban, mixed-use developments. Gary has worked with WDD since 1992. As Secretary and Treasurer, he is responsible for overseeing the structure, formation and documentation for the numerous WDD projects, as well as all financial reporting. Gary graduated from San Jose State University with degrees in Accounting, Finance and Economics, and worked for Deloitte & Touche prior to joining Williams & Dame Development.
Peggy worked side by side with Williams & Dame for four years on our collaboration in the South Waterfront district development. Peggy joined our team as Controller in 2009, overseeing our accounting operations and human resource administration. Peggy holds two degrees from Portland State University and brings over 20 years of accounting experience to WDD.
With over thirty years as part of the team, Susan helps define the character of WDD. Beginning as a data clerk in 1980, Susan has been on board through all of the company’s changes and growth. She is now Dike Dame’s Executive Assistant, working to support Dike on all aspects of project development as well as managing the WDD office
Callie has nearly 20 years of experience in construction, development and corporate accounting for a variety of projects ranging from both residential and retail ground-ups and TI. After working for Williams & Dame for over 9 years, Callie relocated to Southern California to complete her degree and gain more experience. While working in California Callie graduated from University of Phoenix with degrees in Accounting, Business and Science, and then returned to Williams & Dame to put that advanced skill set to use in 2018. Callie’s primary responsibilities with Williams/Dame & Associates are to ensure timely and accurate flow of all operational and projecting accounting.
One of the unique specialties of Williams & Dame Development is to take underdeveloped or underutilized land and create buildings and communities of high quality, that are livable, memorable and enhance the public good.
